I have just returned from celebrating my birthday in the Peak District. On Saturday morning we swam in the Hathersage outdoor pool while the sun shone. Tom and I wanted to get some flying in and having waited on Eyam Edge for three hours waiting for the winds to die down, we eventually were able to take off around 5pm and had an hours flying looking out over the spectacular views of Derbyshire. There were three or four sailplanes also in the air that had launched from the nearby gliding club of Great Hucklow as well as two hang gliders and maybe fifteen paragliders. We celebrated with a drink in the Barrel Inn afterwards as the sun went down. (I’m on the right and Tom’s on the left!)
