I have spent the last three days in Morocco filming a private party involving hot-air ballooning, 4WD desert driving, quad biking, camel racing and all sorts of other outdoor entertainment. We were flown out and back on a private aeroplane along with under a hundred guests. The guests were based at the 5 star luxury hotel Amanjena, (see above picture), where on Friday night they were entertained in Bedouin tents surrounded by camels, snake charmers, acrobats and gun toting horsemen. Belly dancing Moroccan girls were followed up with an “Arabic techno-funk” disco!
Saturday was when the adrenaline sports took place, culminating that night in a James Bond themed party involving a submarine in the swimming pool, fireworks, stunts and some great costumes!
I was once again filming with Chris Sabogal and our footage was edited the afternoon before the main party to be shown on two huge outdoor screens, intercut with footage from various Bond movies. There was a 5am start on Saturday to film the ballooning and from then on the cameras didn’t stop rolling until late in the evening.
That night we swam in our hotel pool underneath the stars and reflected on a job well done. We even managed to spend Sunday morning in the pool before flying back to rainy London later in the day.
