Back to Oxford again this week but this time shooting for CocaCola who had chosen twenty two torch-bearers to carry the Olympic flame over three days. It was a punishing schedule involving late nights, very little sleep, and 4am wake up calls. We shot a lot of footage with the torch-bearers who all had inspiring stories to tell. Amongst them were two former US Olympic athletes including Michelle Kwan, the most decorated figure skater in US history, (five times world champion and twice Olympic medallist). We were all staying at the Malmaison hotel which is housed in a converted prison and each cell is a bedroom. It is the same prison that was used for the television series Porridge but don’t let that put you off as it has undergone a huge transformation and is well worth a visit!
