Well almost a year has passed since I stood on the summit of Everest with my brother Tom and our Sherpa friend Pasang Dawa. It hasn’t been an easy year – I lost parts of four toes to frostbite, spent 8 months with my foot elevated, unable to walk, drive or work. I am continually asked if it was worth it. No mountain is worth losing parts of your body for, but I have never had any regrets about Everest. As the scars heal I hope the bad memories will fade, to be replaced by good ones.
My toes are still not completely healed and it is still painful to walk, but my recovery is well on its way and I have recently been able to put a pair of shoes on and to start working again which is good news.
On that note keep your eyes on this blog for news of my new website which will be launched in a few weeks. It is to advertise my services as a cameraman, available for all sorts of filming projects.
Thank you for visiting my blog – I will be updating it with latest news and events as they happen.
