It’s 2am and I’ve just returned from filming a private event at the top of the 30 St Mary’s Axe, otherwise known as the Gherkin. There is a stunning bar and restaurant at the very top of the building with incredible views of London in all directions. There were all sorts of celebrity guests – sorry no names but you’ll have to take my word for it!

What I can tell you is that I filmed almost two hours of live music. One set was from Beverley Knight. I knew that she has the most incredible voice because I filmed her at another private party last year but she really pulled out all the stops this time. I am going to have to go out and buy her album tomorrow…

She was a hard act to follow but Rick Astley performed a great set with some old swing numbers followed by some eighties favourites… and yes he did play “Never Gonna Give You Up”!
